Job Summary
Student Health Services is accepting applications for an Extra Help Psychiatrist. This position concentrates primarily in Mental Health/Psychiatry and will be working with college-aged patients. Work duties include treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, etc.
Benefits include time away from work for eligible employees and the option to participate in the University’s 403(b) Plan.

$150 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. Illinois Physician license
2. Board certified/eligible in Psychiatry
Work Hours
As needed between the hours of 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Extra Help can work up to 28 hours per week maximum.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Ability to stand, walk, sit, hear, see, write, speak. and read.
3. Required to have color perception and visual acuity.
4. Ability to balance on an exam stool which swivels and has casters.
5. Ability to use technology to provide efficient mental health care in a timely manner.

Special Instructions for Applicants
Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University’s supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Applicable part-time work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however, it will be converted to a full-time equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
